It all started in 1974 when Wendy Carr purchased her foundation mare El Mabrouka (Indian Magic x Muzri) with two principal bloodlines running through Silverdale those of Silver Fire and Nehra which was successfully outcrossed with firstly Egyptian stallions and more recently to Polish Arabians.
Silverdale has achieved many things, including being among the first studs in the UK to lease Arabians horses from abroad, before AI was available. This continues to leave a lasting impression in the bloodlines and quality of Arabian horses avaliable in the UK today. The stud has imported leading horses into the country and many of these Arabians have been placed at the top of line and also won many championships.
Silverdale has also exported many horses to Europe.
Silverdale believes that we need to move with the times and our motto - beauty is in the eye of the beholder - reflects the way we are always looking for the best in the Arabian horse.
